Gas

City Gas and Propane Gas

Two types of gas, city gas and propane gas, are supplied by Tokyo Gas Co. Ltd. and local gas retailers, respectively. In Higashi-Murayama City, city gas is supplied to virtually all areas. Its type is 13A. Gas appliances using city gas and Propane gas differ. They also differ depending on the type of City gas. Use of mis-matched gas appliances can result in accidents. When moving in, you will need to have a serviceman remove the seal of the main valve, open the valve and test before you can start using your appliances. when moving out, you will need to contact the local branch a few days in advance of your moving and inform them of the planned date of moving, your name, new address and customer number which appears on your receipts. On the day of moving, an employee will come to your residence for final settlement of your bill and sealing of the main valve.

Trouble Shooting

If your appliance burns abnormally or leaks gas, contact the nearest branch of Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd or your propane gas retailer immediately. If you smell gas, be sure to close the main valve and open the windows to ventilate. Never light a fire or turn on an electric switch until ventilation is completed.
