Sister Cities

Higashimurayama City began a sister city relationship with the City of Independene in the State of Missouri, USA back in 1978. This year marks the 29th anniversary. During this period, we have sponsored a variety of exchange programs, enhancing mutual understanding between our two by sending missons. In 1996, Higashimurayama began a sister city relationship with Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture, and in 2005 with Suzhou City in China.
